It's true. This wonder woman puts some time and effort into her blogs. She even rereads and edits sometimes just for kicks. I would say approximately 1-2.5 hours a day is devoted to these little lessons and stories I share with all of you out there in Cyberland. It's rewarding to write a little piece and then see it on your very own computer screen, glowing like a shiny new toy.
What makes it a little lonely is the lack of feedback. You put yourself out there day after day with no response. No comments. Crickets. Not even little check marks next to the fun, pre-made comments.
(Sigh).
Such is life, I suppose. To be a blogger you must be willing to be ignored. After all, there are literally THOUSANDS of other bloggers out there writing about their stuff. There's the one who writes about little notes he finds in used books. There's the one all about Tai Chi. I'm sure there's probably one out there for that obscure Japanese cartoon you were obsessed with when you were thirteen (or maybe you still are...?) Yet we soldier on, continuing our lonely quest to be read and responded to. Hopefully the internet will find a way to reach out to all of us. Give us each our moment to shine and have others find us and reply to our posts. Maybe this is why God doesn't always directly respond to everyone... too many blogs.
Waiting for your reply, WW

The internet is quite a cold place indeed. On one hand you probably don't want everybody and their mother to read your blog, but on the other hand you're interested in people's thoughts. Unfortunately the real truth is that 90% of comments are worthless, much like this one. While I am not a blogger, I hear the main strategy for gathering interest in the blogosphere is to build up connections to other blogs and get linked.
ReplyDeleteIf its any difference, I added your RSS feed to my google reader, so I'll actually be aware when you write new posts! Looking forward to reading some interesting posts (and comments!?!) in the future.
Funny story.
ReplyDeleteI was truly I little disappointed in your un- wonderwomanly habit of not posting. I was checking your blog everyday. Where were my little anecdotes that I found to be comforting and quite jovial when I usually came home from classes to .. hello Homework- Oh this is awkward, I wasn't expeciting you to be here so soon. You see, I have a date with fun and don't really want to be interrupted by you, as necessary as you are. What's that? You're not leaving until satisfied. Well I guess I'll cancel my plans of fun to pay attention to you. Oh hold on, I need to check on Wonder Woman and see what she recommends for the day. What's this!? NO NEW ADVICE WONDER WOMAN!?
You see even my delusional interplays were getting frustrated. Turns out my "quick button" to your blog was set on August. Silly me.
Moral of my story. I'm an idiot and would probably have commented on more of your blogs had I been smart enough to find them. Do you really want someone so inept posting on your epithets? I dunno... I dunno...
